In the first session, Ms. Enkhtuya Naranchuluun, Director for Real Estate Brokers and Dealers in the Precious Metal and Stones Department of the Financial Regulatory Commission, and Ms. Azbileg Davaatseren, Executive Director of the Precious Metal Traders National Association, provided presentations on the present state of the sector and the challenges that it faces. Furthermore, planetGOLD Mongolia National Project Manager Mr. Altanbagana Bayarsaikhan delivered a presentation on "Project Progress and Outcome” and highlighted the significance of the mercury-free processing systems that established by the project in Mongolia's Selenge province.

The discussion then continued in side sessions, with planetGOLD Mongolia's Technologist Engineer, Mr. Byambasuren Odgerel, and Investment Officer, Ms. Delgermaa Ganbaatar, providing presentations on "Mercury-free Gold Processing Plant" and "Gold traceability and current practices". Byambasuren Odgerel highlighted the lessons learnt from the newly built mercury-free processing systems, as well as the challenges associated with the laws and regulations governing the operation of gold processing plants in Mongolia. Delgermaa Ganbaatar emphasized the concerns of non-traceability while noting the ASGM sector's upstream-to-downstream gold supply chain regulatory gaps.
