Artisanal miners united and established a Savings and Credit Cooperation
planetGOLD Mongolia project have made efforts to raise awareness of these issues and improve access to finance for artisanal miners. To achieve this goal, the project has initiated specific actions dedicated for better access to finance for artisanal miners.
The Artisanal and Small-scale Mining Conference was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on September 20, 2024. Initiated by Mongolia's newly appointed Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Tuvaan Tsevegdorj, and co-organized by the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority, the event marked a significant step forward for Mongolia’s artisanal mining sector.
The sixth meeting of the planetGOLD Mongolia Project Steering Committee was held on January 22, 2024, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
