Description

The Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at the University of British Columbia and the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT), in partnership with the Enhmunh Ergeh Holboo (EMEH) ASM NGO, have carried out an assessment of the social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on artisanal miners who are members of the EMEH ASM NGO. This project was funded through the Extractives Global Programmatic Support (EGPS) administered by the World Bank. Most specifically, this assessment focused on understanding the implications of the pandemic on women miners.
