Description
A training manual, which approaches the problems existing in small-scale artisanal mining from a human rights perspective, proposes to address them via a human rights-based approach which includes the principle of gender equality, and is designed to serve as a tool for helping both government officials and citizens improve their knowledge and skills in relation to protecting the human rights of artisanal miners in order to develop viable solutions for improving their lot. The manual is for use by small-scale miners and government agencies responsible for developing, implementing and enforcing policies and decisions pertaining to artisanal miners and small-scale mining.
